Private House – Cumbria

The stone cladding mirrors the stone boundary wall to the adjacent lane. A reinforced blockwork retaining wall to the west allows the house to be set back on the site, leaving room for a spacious walled garden in front of the house.

The timber and steel roof structure supports a green roof to the south and two single-storey pavilions to the north which form the main living space providing views to the fells. A glazed link between the pavilions provides a central top-lit main stair to provide access to these first floor areas. The pavilions are lightweight timber frames, clad in zinc with large corner windows.
