Project overview

Refurbishment and reuse of the former Grange Church of Scotland.

Kilmarnock Climbing Centre is situated in a traditional sandstone church building constructed in the late 1800’s. The conversion into this state of the art facility has been made possible by Above Adventure, a non-profit organisation ran by volunteers.

The project involved demolition of the existing connecting building and erecting of a new extension along with the conversion of the existing church hall into a fantastic climbing centre.

Alterations involved slappings, new floor slabs, removal of the existing balcony level and construction of new climbing wall. Additionally, the creation of the new associated support structure and a new balcony viewing platform was constructed.
