The additional space and viewing gallery, which we provided structural and civil engineering input towards, will attract more visitors, and help spread their messages on climate change more widely.
The project required detailed FEM analysis to model various construction and end usage stages, coordination with specialist stair and lift designers and extensive temporary propping work to facilitate erection in a very confined space and at height.
For the reasons above, namely the messages about climate change which the structure ultimately helps to promote, and the complexity of the analysis and design versus the simplicity of the basic principles, this is a special project.
