Home / Wilton Road
Wilton Road had an open plan kitchen space created by removing internal masonry walls and chimney breast at the ground floor level.
We also formed new openings in the existing masonry external walls that allow access from the main building to the existing outshot building from ground floor level.
The team installed a new split-level, steel-framed mezzanine, and staircase in the rear of the building. A new steel pedestrian balustrade encloses the mezzanine space with a new hipped roof formed from steel ridge beams. Traditional timber rafters provide a vaulted ceiling. They installed a large profile roof light within the roof structure.
The architectural vision was achieved when the team formed floor joists to the mezzanine from exposed oak members with concealed fixings specified to achieve the architectural vision. A new timber framed garage was constructed and clad in stone to marry in with the existing building.
The team carried out external works to install timber external steps, improving access to the rear of the building. Moreover, they also created new floor slabs and openings in the existing building to allow access at a lower level. We carried out this project in Revit and exchanged 3D models with the architect to aid coordination.
