The Wick Industrial Units project was designed by Threesixty Architecture, with Morgan Sindall appointed as main contractor.
The development forms part of a wider programme of business unit facilities that Narro has helped deliver across the Highlands and Scotland, including similar schemes in Broadford, Forres, and Golspie. These units are designed to accommodate a broad range of small to medium-sized enterprises, providing flexible, commercially-viable workspace.
Structurally, the Wick units follow the established approach used across the programme, utilising steel portal frames as the primary structural system. The buildings are designed for high thermal performance, incorporating a heavily insulated cladding system to the roof and walls, engineered to achieve demanding U-value targets. This insulated envelope is supported directly off the steel frames, contributing to buildings that are both energy-efficient and economical to construct.
A significant element of Narro’s scope on this project was the civil engineering package. This included the design of a road extension serving the site, which was subject to formal road adoption, along with car park layout and design, surface levels, and kerbing. This civils input ensured that the infrastructure surrounding the units was fully integrated with the wider development.
M&E engineering was provided by Meta. The project was delivered on time and on budget, reflecting the efficient and collaborative approach that has characterised Narro’s involvement across this series of business unit developments.
