Project overview

Designed on a raft foundation, this low-tech new build 'solid house' showcases the use of traditional and heavyweight materials, which create a calm and 'established' atmosphere.

Traditional materials are used in a modern way: a masonry structure of blockwork and cavity walls, reclaimed sandstone rubble and textured render facings, a touch of timber cladding and zinc seamed roof finishes.
