Project overview

Narro worked with HRI Architects to design the new offices for Russwood Ltd, a supplier of high-quality sustainable timber products.

Situated alongside Newtonmore railway station in the Cairngorms National Park, the building meets Russwood’s spatial and operational needs as well as being a showcase for their high quality products.

The geometrically complex structure is partially a portalised glulam frame with highly expressed flitch connections throughout. The ground floor is a suspended JJI structure supported on mass fill piled foundations. The heavily insulated timber infill panels are used to demonstrate the various cladding materials supplied by Russwood and their installation techniques.
