Home / Private Home – Edinburgh
Narro provided civil and structural engineering services to create a large two-storey steel framed extension to an existing property situated within the Edinburgh Conservation area.
A series of pitched frames, using slim form SHS columns, were used throughout with a combination of fixed moment connections and braced steel frame bays provide the lateral and longitudinal stability to the building and large form rooflights allow light to enter the extension and the external terrace areas. This achieved the structural requirements while not sacrificing the open plan and predominantly glazed extension aesthetic.
Externally, the garden levels were reconfigured using retaining walls to merge the new extension terrace with the existing garden area.
We have 7 offices across the UK. We are here to support our clients wherever they need us.
