The accommodation is arranged around private courtyard gardens that terrace down to the front entrance in response to the steeply sloping site. The cantilevered timber staircase, glazed lift, and indoor swimming pool all posed structural engineering challenges. The master bedroom on the third floor cantilevers over the drive to maximise sunlight and views and opens onto a south-facing roof terrace.
