Home / Logie Old Kirk
The project comprised the consolidation and stabilisation of the surviving fabric of the Kirk. Two walls of the Kirk are Scheduled Ancient Monuments, and the proposed works to the other parts required Listed Building Consent.
The overriding structural principle behind the consolidation works was to return the walls of the building back to being solid stone masonry construction. The work undertaken dealt with the defects and issues that could have lead to the deterioration of the wall. The works included the killing off and removal of any deeply rooted vegetation, stone replacement and grouting wall cores, pointing, protection of the wall heads and the removal of any corroding metalwork.
