The three-storey property Inshbreck has a garage basement formed with a Stepoc retaining wall, with a timber structure over, creating the striking geometry of this family home.
A feature glulam ridge beam was used to create the large clear spans within the main communal living space. A glass balustrade frames the edge of the first floor mezzanine overlooking the double-height living room below. A rigid oak frame was used on the glazed front elevation to provide stability to the property whilst framing a series of large glazed bifold doors which provide access onto the decking.
Spaced timber columns were used to support the edge of the curved overhanging roof structure, providing shelter to the decking.
Inshbreck house is finished in locally sourced Scotlarch cladding to give the house its distinct, characterful look.
