Project overview

This project involved the refurbishment of a 19th century warehouse building previously used as a nightclub into a highspec commercial gallery for contemporary art.

Our role included the structural design and detailing for the fitting-out of the basement, ground and first floors.

New openings were formed through original concrete floor slabs. This allowed for a new feature staircase and a hatched opening in the gallery floor for moving large exhibits between levels. Natural lighting was supplemented with the introduction of ground floor level glazing adjacent to the front elevation windows.
