We used several cutting edge methods to undertake conservation led engineering decisions; point cloud survey information demonstrating the reaction of the structure subjected to extreme heat and detailed drone survey and photogrammetry to specify the high level repairs and temporary works safely. We knew it was critical to view the building as a whole system in order to save it.
Now the building is cleared we are able to start to undertake the structural repair of what you see standing, including the external stonework repairs. With the aim to make the building fully stable and protected, without reliance on the external shoring scaffolds and other façade framing systems currently in place. This will get the building ready for the exciting work of Phase 3.
