Aldourie Estate – Castle

Poor ground conditions on site required a piled foundation solution. Due to the proximity of the castle, vibrations were strictly monitored throughout the process.

A new suspended footbridge was designed to span the adjacent burn to provide access to the rest of the estate to the private guests staying at the castle.

Large reinforced concrete retaining walls were created to create the bastion area and create more space in the courtyard through a stone-faced serpentine wall.

Hidden below ground are extensive civil engineering works involving a pumped SUDS drainage system to serve the whole estate.

Traditional methods of construction and exceptionally high attention to every detail was adopted throughout the Aldourie Estate Castle project.
