Narro Associates, a leading structural and civil engineering consultancy renowned for its expertise in conservation and sustainable engineering, is pleased to announce the relocation of its Newcastle office to a larger premises in The Cluny Works, located in the heart of the Ouseburn area.

This move reflects Narro’s continued growth and increasing demand for its specialist services across the North East. The new space will support the expanding team and strengthen collaboration with architects and developers throughout the region.

The team recently celebrated the completion of Tynemouth House, an award-winning residential scheme delivered in collaboration with Mawson Kerr Architects, showcasing innovative design and engineering excellence.

For the Northumberland Estate, the team has undertaken a series of conservation surveys and repair schemes, including work on the historically significant former Alnwick railway station, contributing to the preservation and adaptive reuse of key heritage assets.

Narro also recently provided structural and civil engineering design for the redevelopment of Bamburgh Castle’s historic Walled Garden, introducing a new café and changing space. The team delivered sensitive and sustainable engineering solutions that respected the garden’s heritage while providing contemporary functionality.

These projects reflect the Newcastle team’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and the sensitive integration of new and old, reinforcing Narro’s reputation as a leader in both contemporary and conservation engineering.

Ben Adam, Managing Director of Narro Associates, said:

“We’re delighted to be moving into The Cluny Works. This new space reflects the growth of our Newcastle team and our commitment to the North East. Ouseburn is a fantastic creative and cultural hub and being based here will strengthen our relationships with local architects and developers. Our expertise in conservation and sustainable engineering is particularly well-suited to the area’s rich architectural heritage, and we’re excited about the opportunities ahead.”

The Newcastle expansion follows the recent opening of Narro’s first London studio, further enhancing the consultancy’s size, reach, and ability to deliver thoughtful, elegant, and environmentally responsible engineering solutions across the UK.
