The Narro Glasgow team has recently been appointed to a range of high-profile projects in the city that are at various stages of progression. From conservation projects and factory refurbishments to hotel developments, facade repairs, and student accommodation, the Glasgow team continue to showcase expertise and commitment to excellence in engineering.
Industrial Developments
Narro is at the forefront of transforming industrial spaces in Glasgow. Our team is currently leading a factory refurbishment and office facility project for BE-ST, bringing new life to an existing structure. By integrating cutting-edge engineering solutions and sustainable practices, we are enhancing the functionality and efficiency of these units, ensuring they meet the demands of modern industry while preserving their historical significance. The team is also working with developers on five brand new built industrial units in the southside of the city.
Hotel Refurbishments
In collaboration with architects and developers, we’re conducting a feasibility study to refurbish an existing city centre hotel, the Alexander Thomson on Argyle Street. The refurbishment aims to include the addition of two extra storeys to expand capacity. Our engineering solutions are integral to creating state-of-the-art accommodation that promises to elevate the city’s hospitality sector.

Facade Repairs: Preserving Glasgow’s Heritage
Narro has a deep commitment and expertise in the conservation space. The Practice strives to preserve the rich architectural heritage of Glasgow. Our expertise in façade repairs is evident in multiple restoration projects across the city.
With a long history as a major trading port, Glasgow has an impressive abundance of architecturally and culturally significant structures. The ornate façades of the city centre and Merchant City are an important part of Glasgow’s character.
By employing advanced techniques and materials, we restore the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of historical buildings, safeguarding them for future generations. One such project is the façade repairs to a Category B listed Alexander Thomson style former warehouse on Miller Street.
State-of-the-Art Student Accommodation
As Glasgow continues to attract students from around the world, the demand for high-quality student housing has surged. Narro is actively involved in the development of modern, secure, and sustainable student accommodation. Our engineering solutions ensure these facilities provide a conducive environment for learning and living, contributing to Glasgow’s reputation as a premier educational hub.
These projects include the conversion of disused office space in the city centre on St Vincent Street, giving them a new lease of life.

Refurbishment and Extension
Plans are underway to convert a disused office block on West Campbell Street into apartments, with the addition of three new storeys on top of the existing block. This project is currently in a detailed design stage.
As well as this, the historic B-listed Turnbull Street Police Station is also at the detailed design stage. The structure has gone through many uses in its 120+ years. From being the Central Police office, the Glasgow District Court, and the former site of the Police Museum. There are now plans to convert it into unique flats are progressing well.
