Job Description

​

• The Graduate Engineer undertakes design work and develops engineering competencies while progressing towards professional accreditation.

​

General Requirements and Attributes for the Role

​

• MEng or BEng.
• Effective communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to personal development and training.
• Willingness to actively work towards chartered membership of a professional institution (ICE or IStructE).
• Ability to manage small projects with modest supervision.
• Ideally have done work experience with a structural or civil engineering company.

​

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

​

• Perform civil and structural calculations and design with supervision.
• Workplace learning, asking questions, and skills development.
• Attend site activities as required.
• Support project administration and maintain CPD records.
• Work towards ICE or IStructE professional qualification.
• Have awareness of business development activities.

​

Key Performance Indicators

​

• Workplace attendance and management of personal workload.
• Demonstrated progress towards chartership
• Minimum of 30 hours CPD annually with evidence of learning.

​

Project Owner Responsibilities

​

• Carry out or discuss conceptual/feasibility design of projects.
• Plan, supervise, and manage projects to ensure a quality service to clients.
• Ensure that Health & Safety aspects of designs are properly consider for compliance with CDM Regulations.
• Monitor financial performance and profitability of projects.
